Facilitation techniques for social business
To make your social business successful, you need to collaborate with people. That means taking part in meetings, which don’t always seem productive. When a group lacks common understanding and trust, meetings can leave us feeling disappointed and frustrated.
You can change this situation by taking the role of facilitator: someone who provides structure and support for the group without directing. In this workshop you’ll learn techniques to:
- make sure each person’s needs are met—eg trust, respect, understanding—so they consider the meeting a safe space
- accept every contribution and encourage everyone to participate
- harness the group’s skills and knowledge to find common purpose and make decisions
