Join us for our 25th Food Talks, where we’ll explore how good food business can help us build back better.

This is part of our 2020 #FoodTalks series, which has an overarching theme this year of ‘We are all emergency respondents now’. The meeting will be held online via Zoom.

How can food businesses play their role in not just getting through the pandemic, but addressing the multiple emergencies we face, including climate, biodiversity and obesity crises? Our economy is in recession and the furlough scheme is ending soon. How can we remain hopeful amidst continuing difficult times ahead? How have food businesses adapted and changed business models? Should restaurateurs and food business owners get involved in influencing policy? What roles can food business leaders play in helping build back better – in ways that address root causes of some of the issues we face? How can we all play a part?

We are delighted that our speakers will include Thomasina Miers (co-founder of Wahaca and former winner of Masterchef) and Geetie Singh-Watson (restaurateur, including Riverford at The Duke of Cambridge and The Bull Inn in Totnes) and Christopher Kong (co-founder of Better Nature, promoting plant-based eating with tempeh). Hear insights from our expert speakers and share your own questions and views too.

#FoodTalks is brought to you by a partnership of the Food Ethics Council, Impact Hub Kings Cross, Organico, and London Food Link, part of Sustain: the alliance for better food and farming.

There is an optional donation to this event. This will help us cover our costs and time for the event, but we still want to be accessible to everyone, so only give if you can! To thank you for your donations, our Food Talks partner Organico will be offering a food hamper including some of their delicious, organic and Mediterranean products worth £70.

We look forward to seeing you at the talk!
