WHAT IT MEANS TO BE HUMAN: COURSES AND RETREATS AT CHISHOLME INSTITUTE

Come and join us for an informal afternoon of talks, films and conversation at Impact Hub King’s Cross. We will be introducing the Courses and Retreats offered by The Chisholme Institute which explore the capacity of the human heart to guide and inform.

This will be the ‘London Launch’ of the new 40-day retreat being held in May and in October 2017.

We will be considering such questions as – where to find stability and resilience in a dynamic and changing world; where do we look when we prefer facing the unknown to the known; how do we see the ‘other’ to be ‘no-other’, and other such questions.
There will be plenty of time for conversation and participation.

Everyone welcome.

About Chisholme

The Chisholme Institute is a school and retreat centre located on a beautiful estate in the Scottish Borders. For over forty years it has offered a unique education for those who seek to know themselves essentially and who wish to understand the reality of the world in which they live.

What makes the education unique? This is a school without teachers. Learning here is a process of self-discovery, free of dogma yet drawing on the wisdoms that have informed the great religions. The guiding principle is that there is an essential unity of all existence.

Study retreats, such as the forthcoming 40-day one, offer a balanced programme of study, work, meditation and devotional practice with the support and supervision of experienced staff.

The aim of the courses Chisholme offers is that students should emerge from them as more complete human beings, better able to appreciate themselves and as people who can participate more fully in the world.
