Join us at our next #TRAIDTALKS where Tansy Hoskins, author of Stitched Up – The Anti-Capitalist Book of Fashion asks how the fashion industry treats its employees and whether fashion can ever really be ethical.

Tansy argues that behind fashion’s fluffy image, lies a multi-billion dollar industry, dependent on cheap labour and the consumption of huge quantities of natural resources and calls for more responsible attitudes to the industry and how we consume clothes.

Tansy, also writes regularly for the Guardian, the Business of Fashion, and Counterfire.org, makes documentaries and since the launch of Stitched Up, her first book, she has appeared across national and regional media discussing how capitalism and consumption means exploitation and environmental damage is endemic in the fashion industry.

Booking is essential. Email Andrea Speranza at TRAID. Please arrive by 6:15pm to register. This event is free but for people who are able to contribute, TRAID suggest a donation of £5 which will be put towards paying for the venue.
