#HumansOfImpactHub: Nikita Johnson
22 August 2014 - Will Cardy

Impact Hub members are a diverse lot, from seasoned professionals to start up entrepreneurs, running businesses and charities spanning the social spectrum.

We’ve established a network of hard-working and interesting individuals who believe that co-working is more than just office space – it’s an opportunity to  grow the positive impact of your work.

Always interested to find out who makes our community we caught up with Nikita Johnson, Founder of RE.WORK to find out about her journey to Impact Hub King’s Cross..

What inspired you to start your social enterprise?

My background is in international development and urbanisation, and whilst I was studying a Masters I co-founded a startup incubator for students and Alumni to provide them with support to start up their own businesses in the tech and social enterprise sectors. RE.WORK stemmed from my mission to bring together new, exciting and emerging technology to tackle global challenges in society such as population growth in cities, accessible education and healthcare, more sustainable energy sources and efficient urban areas.

What has been an important lesson you’ve learned so far?

To start your own business you need hard work, determination and a lot of enthusiasm for your ideas to pull them off.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received so far?

Work hard and treat people as you would want to be treated!

What are you most looking forward to from being an Impact Hub member?

Working in a creative environment to grow the company and to meet other members to share ideas and learn from.

What does impact mean to you?

Making a difference for future generations
