#HumansOfImpactHub: Practivate Launches Crowdfunding Campaign
19 October 2014 - Will Cardy

Practivate is dedicated to the design, development and delivery of social impact programming that creates opportunity and economic equality for global citizens at risk through social enterprise, with a current focus on ex-offenders, young adults at risk in the community and gang alternatives. They work with local and national government and third sector organisations to identify candidates in vulnerable circumstances who want to walk away from a life of crime and, armed with a portfolio of enterprise skills, change the course of their lives.

Practivate is launching a new and innovative programme to provide former gang members with legitimate business opportunity through social enterprise. Keepin’ it R.E.A.L. Homeware for Life is the second social enterprise platform launched by Practivate to provide a safe and productive enterprise environment where former gang members can apply the impressive portfolio of skills acquired doing business on the street.

Leslie Alfin, Practivate’s Executive Director says, “These are bright and talented young men who had limited, if any, choice. We aim to fill that gap and provide them with the opportunity to use these skills toward building a healthy and sustainable future.”  Click on the link below to learn how you can support an enterprising young adult at risk by “Walking A Mile in Their Shoes”.
